slotwash is a tool for sharing washing machines fairly. Using it means agreeing to the below. It's short on purpose.
What slotwash is
slotwash coordinates bookings for machines that belong to your building or its owner — not to us. We provide the scheduling software. We don't own, service, or control the machines, and we can't guarantee one will be free, working, or that other people will follow the schedule.
Your account
- You need an account to book, and you're responsible for what happens under it.
- Use your real display name — your neighbours need to know who booked the machine.
- You join a building with a join code. Only use a code you were given by someone in that building.
Playing fair
The whole point is fairness, so:
- Turn up for your slot, and check in with the machine's QR code so the system knows you're there. Slots you don't check into are released to someone else.
- Collect your laundry when the cycle ends. If you leave it, a neighbour may move it to a bucket so the machine can be used.
- If someone moves your laundry, you can thank them. Karma is only awarded by the person who was helped — you can't award it to yourself, and reciprocal thanks between the same two people are rate-limited. Don't try to game it.
- Don't hoard slots, book under someone else's name, or report machines broken when they aren't.
Reliability and karma are just numbers in an app. Reliability reflects whether you check in and collect on time and can affect in-app perks like booking further ahead. Karma is social recognition only and never buys booking priority. Neither is a judgement of you as a person, and neither has any monetary value.
Volunteers and admins
Some residents have extra powers in their own building — marking machines out of service, onboarding residents, and settling disputes. They act for their building, not for us, and we're not responsible for the decisions they make.
Notifications
slotwash sends alerts about your washes. They depend on your device, your network, and Apple's or Google's delivery systems, so we can't promise every one arrives or arrives on time. Don't rely on slotwash alone for anything that really matters.
Acceptable use
Don't use slotwash to harass anyone, to break the law, or to attack, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service. We can suspend accounts that do.
Availability, and no warranty
slotwash is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It's an early-stage product: it may be unavailable, may lose data, may change, and may be discontinued. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including missed washes, wet clothes, or disputes with your neighbours.
Ending it
You can stop using slotwash and ask us to delete your account at any time — see the privacy policy. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above will change and material changes will be flagged in the app.
